Nearly ten years ago, Hana Zalzal had a mission: to create a professional color cosmetic line that
top makeup artists would covet, yet would be easy enough for all women to enjoy. She recognized
that makeup is an intimate part of a woman's identity; it's her "cargo." It should serve as a form of
self-expression, as well as make her feel good and look great. So in 1996, after seeking input from
some of the biggest names in the business, Zalzal launched CARGO, a line of invitingly wearable
products that were both practical and portable.

With the launch of CARGO, Zalzal hoped to inspire women of all ages to experiment, play,
celebrate, and reinvent. Her wish was granted. In no time at all, CARGO became the brand she set
out to create—innovative and individual, yet invitingly wearable. The brand became a recognized
name—and a major player on the beauty scene.
What catapulted CARGO into stardom were their lip glosses—jumbo metal tins packed with
stunning, high shine colors. These generously stocked, oversized glosses became CARGO's
signature item, distinctively setting them apart from the others. Makeup artists and the stars they
worked on craved CARGO (and still do) for its longwearing formulas and amazing collection of
colors.

Today, continual innovation in packaging and formulation has kept CARGO in the spotlight and
earned the brand a multitude of awards such as the internationally renowned Red Dot award for
product design and the industry-coveted IDSA award.

Products such as PlantLove™ (an eco-friendly innovation), Foundation (in a pouch),
BeachBlush™ (a blush and bronzer in one) and ColorCards™ (eyeshadows so slim they fit in your
wallet) are considered groundbreaking in the industry.
As CARGO continues to grow as one of the best-selling and most innovative independent beauty
brands, their philosophy stays unchanged; that women should embrace their natural beauty and

CARGO products continue to be coveted by celebrities and the everyday woman alike. They have
appeared in the most prestigious of goody bags - the Oscars®, the Emmys® and the Golden
Globes® to name a few. In addition CARGO continues to give back. A portion of proceeds from
their celebrity-designed lipsticks goes to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
